Julian Calendar, Of the Color Nude (2000)- Valley music is a funny thing. Despite our cultural diversity, its amazing how many albums sound like they were made by someone who has spent too many long winters in Iceland.
So it is with studio performer Todd B. Williams, who is released the 26-minute, seven-track Of the Color Nude. Williams, age 27, is from Fresno, and also performs with a combo called Trewrek. But Of the Color Nude is a solo effort.
Of the Color Nude is a down beat album-deliberately paced, with treacherous feedback and haunting tales. Says the artist, "I wrote, recorded, and played everything on the CD aside from the back up vocals on tracks 1, 5, and 7, which were done by Lois Horeftis."
Williams has a website about his project, which could use some help: there is precious little information. Go to www.geocities.com/juliancalendar2000/index.html
William's manic influences suggest Tori Amos and, more tellingly, Jeff Buckley. There's not a dry eye in the house on Of the Color Nude.
